Seen so many other teams get called for this, but if the refs don’t catch it I guess it’s cool 😂 Twenty years old when Buffalo took him 33rd overall in the 2024 Draft. Six foot four, 215 pounds out of Florida State — a receiver built like a tight end with hands that made scouts forget about his age. His first NFL game he led the Bills in receiving and won Pepsi Rookie of the Week. It was supposed to be the beginning of something. Instead his sophomore season became one of the stranger stories in the AFC — benched four separate times as a healthy scratch, trade talks swirling, a final stat line of 38 catches for 404 yards and four touchdowns across only 13 appearances. The kind of season that raises questions about whether the talent was ever going to translate. Then GM Brandon Beane stood in front of reporters after the season and said the Bills had hit the reset button and that Coleman’s best year was still ahead. They turned down multiple trade offers. Joe Brady, the new head coach, said publicly he advocated for Coleman in the offseason and expects him to be a real part of the offense. The minicamp reports through the summer described a different player — more focused, better prepared, ready to compete for a real role alongside DJ Moore and Khalil Shakir. In Week 4 against New England, Coleman caught six of seven targets for 116 yards and a touchdown — his best game as a pro. Three seasons in, 23 years old, a second-round pick who has yet to fully arrive. In Buffalo right now they still believe he will. The answer to whether they are right is playing out in real time.
