Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane suffered a knee injury today after his left leg appeared to give way while making a cut early in the game. The injury occurred on a non-contact play, and Achane was able to walk off the field before being evaluated by the medical staff. He was ultimately ruled out for the remainder of the game, leaving Miami without one of its most explosive offensive weapons.
Before exiting, Achane recorded 3 carries for 17 yards, averaging 5.7 yards per carry. The injury is especially significant considering his production this season and his importance to Miami’s offense. Achane was coming off a 2025 campaign in which he rushed for 1,350 yards and averaged an NFL-best 5.7 yards per carry, making him one of the league’s most dangerous big-play running backs.
Following the game, Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley said the situation “does not sound very optimistic at this moment,” while emphasizing that the team was still gathering information and expected to know more after further evaluation. No specific ligament injury or official timetable has been announced yet, so speculation about an ACL, MCL or other structural damage should be treated as unconfirmed until the Dolphins provide a medical update. All eyes will be on Monday’s evaluation for the next update on Achane’s status.
