Arizona State Football Handshake Moment Goes Viral

Arizona State’s fall camp is producing one of college football’s most viral handshake moments this preseason. During a National Collegiate Athletic Association secondary drill, a Sun Devils defensive back got beaten deep on a go route, only to calmly extend a handshake to the receiver moments later, a clip that exploded on social media for its “diabolical” sportsmanship after getting cooked. The moment came as Kenny Dillingham’s program opened 2026 camp in Tempe, working to replace several draft departures on a defense that must reload in the Big 12. Fans reacted with a mix of laughter and disbelief at the calm of the exchange, turning a routine rep into a highlight-reel talking point. Arizona State’s staff keeps fine-tuning its secondary as the Sun Devils build toward the 2026 season and another College Football Playoff push.
