As Seattle came storming out for introductions, Cam Newton grabbed a front-row seat and just stared them down, dead-eyed, unbothered, letting the defending champs know he would not be intimidated in their house. No flinch, no fear, pure alpha energy against the most feared defense in football. The photo went viral instantly and lives forever as a symbol of Cam’s swagger. The stare-down, it turned out, was a pre-game ritual he did on every road game, but this one hit different against the mighty LOB. Unfortunately the Boom boomed back, Kam Chancellor took a pick 90 yards to the house, Richard Sherman added another, and Seattle won 31-17 on their way to a second straight Super Bowl. But Cam got his revenge later that year, torching the Seahawks in a 27-23 comeback en route to an MVP season and a Super Bowl trip of his own. The stare didn’t win that night, but it captured everything Cam was, fearless, brash, all confidence. Superman never blinked.
