New York Yankees complete dominant sweep of Boston Red Sox in AL Wild Card Series

The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox 9-2 on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium to complete a dominant two-game sweep in the American League Wild Card Series. Max Fried delivered a strong outing, while the Yankees’ offense continued to come through in the biggest moments. Luis García Jr. recorded three hits and launched a solo home run in the fourth inning, while Cody Bellinger crushed a three-run homer and finished with four RBIs. Boston briefly cut the deficit to 2-1 on Willson Contreras’ solo home run in the sixth, but the Yankees immediately answered with a massive six-run bottom half of the inning to blow the game open. The Yankees outscored the Red Sox 18-2 across the two games and collected 26 total hits to complete the sweep. New York now advances to the ALDS, where they will face the Tampa Bay Rays, even without captain Aaron Judge in the active lineup
