THREE SECONDS. THAT’S ALL IT TOOK.
On April 8, 2002, WWE fans witnessed one of the wildest and shortest title changes in wrestling history.
During Monday Night RAW in Phoenix, Arizona, Spike Dudley challenged European Champion William Regal for the WWE European Championship.
But before the match could even properly get underway, Dudley caught Regal completely off guard.
While the referee was distracted trying to remove a foreign object from the ring, Dudley hit Regal with his signature Dudley Dog, leaving the champion down on the mat.
The bell was immediately rung.
Dudley covered Regal.
1… 2… 3!
Just like that, Spike Dudley was the new European Champion.
The official match lasted only about three seconds, making it one of the shortest championship matches in WWE history.
No long battle. No comeback. No dramatic finish.
Just one perfectly timed surprise attack—and a title changed hands.
Wrestling doesn't always give you time to blink.
