One of the funniest examples of The Rock mocking Triple H came during their legendary 2000 feud, particularly on the July 24, 2000 episode of Raw Is War. At the time, The Rock was WWE Champion, while Triple H was the top heel chasing the title. Rock came out for a promo and launched into a hilarious impression of Triple H’s nasal, whiny voice. He mocked Hunter’s signature cadence, dramatically stretching out lines like, “I am The Gaaaame… and I am that… damn… good.” But Rock didn’t stop at the voice. He copied Triple H’s mannerisms too—the dramatic pauses, intense stare, pointing at himself, constant references to Stephanie McMahon, and even Hunter’s famous water-spitting routine. The crowd absolutely loved it because Rock had every little detail down perfectly. He made Triple H’s “The Game” and “Cerebral Assassin” persona look completely ridiculous, turning Hunter’s serious, intimidating character into the punchline. That was what made their 2000 rivalry so entertaining. Triple H would try to present himself as this ruthless, cerebral mastermind, while The Rock constantly tore down that image with humor. Instead of taking Hunter’s ego seriously, Rock treated him like a guy who simply talked way too much. Triple H would respond by getting even more furious and intense, which only made Rock’s jokes hit harder. Their rivalry heading into SummerSlam 2000 was more than just Rock Bottoms and title matches. The Rock was attacking Triple H’s entire character—and sometimes, the funniest weapon he had was simply doing Hunter’s voice better than Hunter could.
