Kurt Angle's "Wherever, Whatever!" moment against the "WHAT?" chants in 2002

DALLAS, TX — On the 14 January 2002 episode of WWF RAW Is War, Kurt Angle delivered one of the most brilliant displays of comedic heel work in wrestling history.
While being interviewed backstage by Michael Cole ahead of his match with Kane, the Olympic Gold Medalist found himself fighting a losing battle against the Texas crowd's deafening "WHAT?" chants. Angle’s solution? Prove how "hip" he was to Cole by confidently butchering Shakira’s massive 2001 hit single, changing "Whenever, Wherever" to a sternly delivered "Wherever, Whatever!"
Angle’s elite comedic timing and ability to stay deadpan while fighting a hostile crowd turned a routine interview into a certified classic. They simply do not make backstage promos like this anymore.
