CM Punk Cashes in Money in the Bank to win first WWE World Heavyweight Championship

During the June 30, 2008, episode of Monday Night Raw at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, World Heavyweight Champion Edge was in the ring celebrating his controversial title defense from the previous night. His celebration was abruptly interrupted when an enraged Batista attacked him from behind, unleashing a vicious assault that ended with a devastating Batista Bomb. The attack left Edge completely incapacitated in the middle of the ring. Seizing the opportunity, CM Punk sprinted to the ring alongside a referee and officially cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. With the champion unable to defend himself, Punk lifted Edge onto his shoulders and delivered the Go to Sleep. He then immediately covered Edge for the three-count, capturing his first World Heavyweight Championship while Edge remained unable to fight back.
