Trey Murphy is an American professional basketball athlete who currently plays for the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Murphy played college basketball for the Rice Owls and the Virginia Cavaliers. He was selected with the 17th overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft by the Memphis Grizzlies but was later traded to the Pelicans. Murphy is known for his exceptional shooting ability, with a career high of 41 points in a game against the Portland Trail Blazers in March 2023. He was also selected to participate in the Slam Dunk Contest at the 2023 NBA All-Star Weekend.
