Rivera delivered one of the most unforgettable baserunning sequences in MLB history during a game between the San Francisco Giants and Arizona Diamondbacks.
After misjudging a deep fly ball, Rivera reversed direction multiple times, missed second base, and had to retrace his steps. Even after a defensive mistake gave him another opportunity, he attempted to score and was thrown out at home.
The chaotic sequence left Giants broadcaster Jon Miller in disbelief, famously describing it as the worst baserunning he had ever seen.
More than two decades later, the play remains one of baseball
most entertaining examples of how quickly things can go wrong.
