Joe Montana's Secret Sideline Calls to His Wife

Joe Montana might have one of the sweetest stories in NFL history. The legendary San Francisco 49ers quarterback won four Super Bowls and earned three Super Bowl MVP awards, but apparently found time for something even more important during games. In an NFL Films clip, Montana recalled discovering that the sideline phone could connect to an outside line. Instead of using it for football, he'd occasionally call his wife, Jennifer, just to tell her he loved her. For someone known as "Joe Cool" under pressure, it's a pretty unforgettable glimpse of the person behind the helmet.
