Philip Michael Rivers is a retired American football quarterback with an illustrious 17-season career in the National Football League (NFL), predominantly with the Chargers franchise. Playing college football for the NC State Wolfpack, Rivers was selected fourth overall in the 2004 NFL Draft by the New York Giants, later traded to the San Diego Chargers for Eli Manning during the draft. Rivers remained a key figure for the Chargers for 16 seasons and concluded his NFL journey with the Indianapolis Colts. Since 2021, he has taken on the role of head football coach at St. Michael Catholic High School.
