Titans' Protection Woes: Dan Moore Jr. Under Scrutiny After Texans Game

Titans fans had to be frustrated watching this protection breakdown against the Houston Texans. Left tackle Dan Moore Jr. appeared to lose track of his assignment, leaving a clear path for cornerback Kamari Lassiter to charge straight at quarterback Cam Ward. Ward barely had time to react as the pressure came flying in, and the clip quickly became another example of the protection problems surrounding Tennessee’s young quarterback. With Ward already dealing with a difficult start to the season, every missed block makes life that much harder for the former No. 1 overall pick. The bigger concern for Tennessee is that this wasn’t an isolated issue. Houston’s defense dominated the matchup, with Will Anderson Jr. recording three sacks and Danielle Hunter constantly disrupting Ward in the backfield. The Texans came away with a 26–3 victory, while the Titans fell to 0–5 and continued searching for answers up front. Ward needs time to develop, but that becomes difficult when defenders are breaking through untouched. If Tennessee wants to get its season back on track, protecting its quarterback has to be a priority.
