Saints vs. Vikings Week 5 Recap: New Orleans suffers 23-13 defeat at home

In Week 5 of the 2026 NFL Season, the New Orleans Saints suffered a frustrating 23-13 defeat against the Minnesota Vikings dropping their home record to 0-3. The Saints offense completely stalled due lack of time of possession and 3 devastating turnovers, including 2 costly interceptions thrown by QB Tyler Shough. Defensively, New Orleans struggled against QB Kyler Murray, who connected with superstar WR Justin Jefferson on an insane 15-yard corner endzone TD catch in triple coverage. The lone bright spot came when DB Jonas Sanker scooped up a forced fumble and sprinted 87 yards for a touchdown, providing the only defensive highlight of the day. This decisive loss deepens the structural issues plaguing the franchise as the trade deadline rapidly approaches. HC Kellen Moore and team leadership now face immense pressure to re-evaluate the roster before embarking on a challenging upcoming slate of games.
