On August 24, 2024, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and John Gotti Ill ran back their chaotic 2023 exhibition -- this time at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, in front of 22,000 fans. Their first meeting ended in a full-blown brawl after referee Kenny Bayless stopped the fight over Gotti's trash talk. This one had a different kind of chaos. In round two. referee Héctor Afu penalized Mayweather for what he ruled an illegal shot to the back of the head. Furious, Mayweather shoved the ref's arm aside and told him to move - and within minutes, Afu was out, replaced mid-fight by Alfredo Uruzquieta.
From there, Mayweather simply took over - speed defense, precise jabs, completely outclassing Gotti for all eight rounds. No official winner since it was a non-scored exhibition, but nobody in that building was confused about who dominated. Afterward Floyd called Gotti "tough as nails" and thanked the Mexico City crowd.
