MILLIONS

The English Premier League is one of the most watched sports competitions in the world. This also makes it one of the most wagered on. However, you don’t have to just bet on the outcome of its matches. In the text below we discuss the types of EPL bets available.

Have you ever wondered how many goals will be scored in a match? Or have you ever thought about placing multiple bets on the Saturday afternoon football games? Making a wager on football no longer has to be about predicting the winner alone. In fact, you can now find football betting odds on a number of bets, such as first goalscorer or how many corners are made. If you want to know more about EPL betting, dive into the article below.

Predicting the Score

One of the hardest bets to make other than an outright winner is the score. Due to the amount of variables that make getting a score right, the odds are often quite high. This means many bettors will shy away from this type of bet. However, to compensate, bookmakers often provide special odds and offers, combining them with bets like first goalscorers.

Another type of bet popular with EPL fans is known as an under or over bet. Generally, you are betting on how many goals will be scored in a match. The figure is usually given as a .5 figure, for example, 2.5 or 3.5. You have to decide if the amount is over or under that level, then place a wager based on that.

This type of bet is good if you know two teams well. For example, two very defensive teams with a good record of not conceding may be a bet for a low amount. If you have one attacking team against a team with a bad defense, you may go the other way.

Accumulators

Accumulators, also known as an acca, are a series of smaller bets made on the outcome of a game. The odds then feed into a larger cumulative bet. If one smaller wager loses, the whole acca falls through. This lets people win large amounts of money with a relatively low outlay. The downside is the higher the odds go through adding more bets, the less chance there is of winning.

Usually, you need to have four bets for it to qualify as an accumulator. Any less than this and it is classed as a double or treble. However, there are special types of bets, like a Lucky 7, which involve mixing accumulators, doubles, and trebles into one large bet.

First Goal Scorer

This is a bet made on an individual player, as opposed to a team or overall outcome. Many people use them if a player is on a wave of good form, scoring plenty in the league or cup games. Those up front obviously have lower odds due to a higher level of their scoring.

A few stipulations are attached to this. Check the bookmaker's policy on their own goals, as they may void the bet or be ignored. You may also wish to check their policy on substitutes; namely, if a player is on the bench and does not come on, do you get a refund? It is also worth noting that as no goalscorer bets have better odds than a no-score draw, the former bet is a more sensible one to make if you think the game will end goalless.

Always keep in mind that football bets and their outcomes only apply up to the first 90 minutes of a game. Any results in extra time or penalties do not count. Once you know this, you just need to do your research. Make sure you know the league, and its players, and find the best odds for your football betting.
