Mike Haynes is a Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback celebrated as one of the greatest defensive backs in NFL history. Drafted fifth overall by the New England Patriots in 1976, he made an immediate impact as the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and a Pro Bowler in each of his first seven seasons. After joining the Los Angeles Raiders in 1983, Haynes teamed with Lester Hayes to form one of the league’s most dominant cornerback duos, helping the Raiders win Super Bowl XVIII. Known for his elite coverage skills, speed, and technique, Haynes finished his career with 46 interceptions and nine Pro Bowl selections. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1997 and is widely regarded as a model of excellence at the cornerback position.
