Jose Bruno Pereira Matias, also known as Bruno Matias, is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Ulpiano Malachias of Team Gracie Barra. During his colored belt career, he trained extensively with coach Felipe Pena at the Projeto Gold Team, where he became widely recognized as one of his generation's top athletes. Matias recently made his pro-division debut at the IBJJF Houston No-Gi Open, where he earned double gold. He should not be confused with another competitor of the same name who represented Checkmat in the mid-2000s.
