James Walter McGirt, also known as "Buddy," is a former American professional boxer who competed from 1982 to 1997. He is a two-weight class world champion, having won the IBF junior welterweight title in 1988 and the WBC and lineal welterweight titles from 1991 to 1993. After retiring from boxing, McGirt transitioned to a successful career as a boxing trainer.
