Coming from a military background, it’s easy to think you’re prepared for anything. That belief was tested quickly when stepping into a jiu-jitsu gym for the first time in 2018 at JGMMA in West Chester. Despite experience in Marine Corps combatives, getting handled by a much smaller, more technical opponent was a wake-up call.
