NFL Preseason Chaos: Fights and Off-Field Drama

The NFL preseason has officially turned into complete chaos—and the drama isn’t limited to the field.
The Cowboys and Saints reportedly had at least six fights during Tuesday’s joint practice. Donovan Ezeiruaku was ejected after throwing a punch, Caelen Carson exchanged blows with Brock Rechsteiner, and Rechsteiner—son of WWE legend Scott Steiner—responded by body-slamming a Cowboys player.
Erik McCoy launched a Cowboys helmet during another altercation, while Dak Prescott and Chase Young were also seen exchanging words. Coaches Brian Schottenheimer and Kellen Moore reportedly discussed ending the session early before ultimately continuing.
Meanwhile, Jayden Daniels’ relationship with LSU has taken an unexpected turn.
Daniels’ attorney sent the university a cease-and-desist letter demanding that LSU stop using his name, image and likeness. While the letter concerns Daniels’ expired NIL agreement, his family says the deeper issue is LSU giving his former No. 5 to sophomore defensive back DJ Pickett.
Daniels delivered one of the greatest seasons in school history in 2023: 3,812 passing yards, 40 passing touchdowns, only four interceptions, 1,134 rushing yards, 10 rushing scores and the Heisman Trophy.
The preseason is supposed to be about preparation, but right now fights, suspensions and off-field disputes are controlling the conversation.
