New Mexico Lobos Head Coach Jason Eck's sideline intensity

Jason Eck, New Mexico's head coach, was the 2025 Mountain West Coach of the Year in his first season with the Lobos. Eck was a walk-on offensive lineman at Wisconsin and spent years as an assistant, including at South Dakota State, where he was the AFCA FCS Assistant Coach of the Year in 2019. He became Idaho's head coach in 2022 and went 26-13 over three seasons before New Mexico named him head coach on December 14, 2024. In 2025 he led the Lobos to a 9-4 season and a 6-2 Mountain West record. His 2026 team has beaten Central Michigan 38-7, Mercyhurst 70-7, New Mexico State 42-18 and UTEP 61-7, and was picked as the preseason Mountain West favorite. The Lobos are in the middle of a game right now.
