Christian Watson fools everyone with his rapid comeback against the Panthers

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson briefly left the field in an ambulance to undergo precautionary hospital testing for a chest injury before miraculously jogging back onto the field to rejoin his team later in the game. During the second quarter of the Thursday Night Football game against the Carolina Panthers, Watson hauled in a deep 53-yard pass from quarterback Jordan Love. He went down hard on the turf, landing awkwardly directly on top of the football while being covered by Panthers rookie cornerback Will Lee III. Watson remained on the ground clutching his chest, while Lee simultaneously suffered a severe hamstring injury on the exact same play. Watson was able to walk off the field under his own power to be evaluated in the blue medical tent. However, the team medical staff opted to transport him via ambulance to a local medical center for precautionary scans. In a highly unusual turn of events, Watson cleared all medical evaluations rapidly, drove back to Lambeau Field, and jogged out of the ambulance to rejoin the team on the sideline in full uniform, officially checking back into the game late in the third quarter. Prior to the scare, Watson had already racked up an impressive 6 receptions for 100 yards. The bizarre, rapid turnaround immediately went viral, drawing instant comparisons across social media to the legendary NBA "Wheelchair Game". During Game 1 of the 2008 NBA Finals, Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce had to be carried off the court and wheeled into the locker room with an apparent severe knee injury, only to dramatically jog back onto the court moments later to hit crucial shots. NFL fans and fantasy managers are calling Watson's sudden ambulance-to-field comeback the closest thing to a WWE storyline seen on a football field.
