Doug Chapman is a former NFL running back who played for the Minnesota Vikings (2000-2003) and the San Diego Chargers (2004). Selected 88th overall in the third round of the 2000 NFL Draft, Chapman was a standout at Marshall University, where he showcased explosiveness, agility, and vision on the field. A key player in Marshall’s success, he transitioned to the NFL, bringing his powerful running style and versatility to the pro level. An injury shortened Chapman’s playing career but he used his experience to embark on a successful 10 year career in broadcasting with ESPN, CBS, and The Big Ten Network. Chapman also served as Director of Player Development at his alma mater and is involved in mentoring and leadership development in various capacities.
