Caden Bodine joins Tampa Bay Rays' taxi squad

Caden Bodine is getting his first taste of the big leagues, joining the Tampa Bay Rays’ taxi squad for their series against the Red Sox. The 22-year-old catcher has had an incredible first full professional season, flying through all four levels of the minors from Single-A Charleston to Triple-A Durham. Bodine has hit .342 with 17 home runs, 99 RBIs and a .927 OPS across 117 games this season, earning Rays Minor League Co-Player of the Year honors. While a call-up is not currently imminent, the taxi-squad opportunity gives Bodine a chance to experience a Major League clubhouse, work with the Rays’ staff and catch bullpen sessions alongside established big leaguers.
