He still gets guarded like this to this day -Stephen Curry gets fouled way more than the referees actually call. Defenders constantly grab him, hold him, and make contact with him while he is moving without the ball. Because Curry is such a great shooter and usually plays through the contact, a lot of these fouls seem to get ignored. It can be frustrating to watch because other NBA stars often get calls for similar contact. Curry works extremely hard to create space, especially when running around screens, but defenders are allowed to be very physical with him. If those fouls were called more consistently, he would have even more opportunities at the free-throw line. Curry has already accomplished so much without getting every whistle, which makes what he does even more impressive. Referees should call the game consistently and give him the same protection they give other superstar players. Great defense should be rewarded, but grabbing, holding, and illegal contact should still be called.
