During his nine-year career, Taylor recorded 4,569 rushing yards, 24 touchdowns and 107 receptions for 1,081 yards. He was known for his quickness, agility and ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, earning him the nickname "Lightning Billy". In 1992, Taylor had his best season as a pro, recorded 1,073 rushing yards, 5 touchdowns and 39 receptions for 402 yards for the Colts. He was selected to the Pro Bowl that year.
