In this interview with Enkh-Ochir Sanz, also known as Angie, Ryan Rapaport discusses her journey into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and her upcoming competition at the National Grappling Association in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Angie shares how she transitioned from Krav Maga to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu upon her husband's suggestion and trained under a Mongolian Olympic judo athlete. Despite the interruption by COVID-19, she continued her training and recently earned her purple belt. Angie talks about her rigorous training routine, combining Judo and Jiu-Jitsu, and preparing for the competition. She also highlights her inspiration from her coach and her involvement in various nonprofit initiatives, including being the president of the Mongolian Nurse Association and a founding board member of the anti-human trafficking organization in Mongolia called Lantuun Dohio. Lantuun Dohio is a 5013c nonprofit that focuses on the rescue, protection, and nurturing of children from abuse, human trafficking, and domestic violence. Their goal is to help create resilient communities and a safe haven for children and women in Mongolia. The interview concludes with Angie discussing her work as a nurse and her passion for helping others.
